Before Niodin had a chance to ask how long exactly 'a while ago' was, the tattoo was done. He nodded and got up off the chair, briefly permitting himself a comfortable stretch after which he walked over to the nearest mirror. From a table he took a small handmirror as well, making it a lot easier to look at what was on his back. "Looks good." Once the redness of the skin was gone it'd likely look even better, at least more contrasting against his skin. He walked back to Rayne and sat down. "That bird's got quite a bit of history," he then admitted. "It's a bit of a long story, but chances are I know whoever wants it on their skin." He was hesitant to tell the whole story, even though he didn't even really have that much of a reason for that. It was likely the result of the work he'd been doing for several years now. Being an infiltrant simply meant being secretive and always 'on'. Niodin subconsciously treated any and every bit of information as a potential risk. "Any chance you're allowed to tell me who got it?" he asked. He doubted that was information he'd be given easily, but it was worth a shot. Rayne Blake

Most people do want to see the final result, even though its red and brand new now, it will look better when it is fully healed in a few weeks, if they follow instructions that is. Most do, yet some don't and they always come back for touchups and complaints. Which Rayne fixes up with words or ink. She trusts her work and has never had a bad tattoo, unless the customer didn't follow instructions. At Niodin's words, Rayne nods her thanks. When he comes back and sits down, she gets to work on patching it up so he can go. "All animals have history somewhere, but I don't think you mean that." She says, though she doesn't comment on who me might think has the tattoo of the dove. All done patching him up, she steps back so he can get up. "All done, since I know this isn't your first tattoo, you remember the rules right?" Rayne asks him while she puts away her tools and ink, just on a counter and not away away, she will do that after. Just doesn't want things in the way when he goes to leave. Rayne looks at him when he asks if she would give out the information of who got the tattoo and she shakes her head no slightly. "Sorry, I don't give out that information, but seeing as how you seem to know about the dove tattoo, I have a feeling you already know or have an idea?"Niodin Evans

He smiled faintly. "No, that's not what I meant," he admitted. He patiently waited for her to wrap things up and then he got up again. His back was a little sore, but life as a guard really put things into perspective so he wasn't too bothered by it. He nodded when she reminded him of the rules. "Yeah, don't worry," he responded. It had been a while since the last one, but everything that he'd been told then about how to look after the thing had seemed like common sense to him, so it'd stuck. She wasn't allowed to tell him who'd gotten the tattoo and he decided not to push it. It was a good sign she didn't just give out that information and she was right; he did have a sneaking suspicion who it could be. "Yes, I do," he conceded. He was about to say something else when sounds outside alerted him. "What the hell..?" he muttered. It wasn't even ten in the morning yet, what in the world could be going on outside? Rayne Blake

She waits for his reply to her question about remember the rules for a new tattoo. There is no way she wants him, or any of her customers, to come back into the shop complaining that it wasn't healing and it was getting worse, or worse yet, hear that someones tattoo got infected and all that. That rap wouldn't be good for her shop at all, plus she likes her record of clean tattoos and all. When she gets his reply that he knows and remembers the rules Rayne nods and moves towards the front of her store to ring him up and make sure hes good to go. "Ok good. If you need a reminder I can tell you or give you a card." On her way to her front counter, she pauses hearing the commotion outside and pauses and frowns. Nothing usually happens this early in the morning, mostly at night when people are free of work usually. "Seriously? Now whats going on out there." Rayne kind of mutters to herself but Niodin can probably hear her as she makes her way to the front of her shop to see what is going on. Tags- Niodin Evans

"No idea," Niodin answered grimly as he paced over to the shop's front window. He peeked outside. There was a lot of yelling in the streets and the tone was angry, rowdy. Niodin swore. In very little time a group of at least about fifteen men had formed in the street and judging by how things looked it was a fight between two smaller groups and they were not pulling any punches; whatever this was, it was serious and extremely violent. Sirens indicated that law enforcement was already on their way, but at the same time Niodin already heard a window shatter. "All right, this is bad," he said. Just as he considered wether or not to just let the cops handle it and wether he could get into trouble for not stepping in, he realized two things. The first was that some of the group were moving closer to the parlor and the second that he was still not wearing a shirt. He rushed back to the chair and put his shirt back on, now realizing a third thing; he did not have his weapon on him, as he was in full civilian gear. Meaning that if part of this group came in here, he could only pray there weren't too many of them. Even a trained guard was royally fucked against an overwhelming majority. He turned back to Rayne. "Do you have anything of a back room? A basement?" he asked hastily. He had no idea wether or not she could defend herself if need be, but it honestly didn't matter. A fight breaking out in here would leave her shop in ruins, probably. Pounding on the door. He swore again. Several of the guys had noticed the two of them and wanted to be let in. Rayne Blake

Rayne watches the group of angry people outside her shop yell and scream at one another and some throwing fists. Fights this early, shes never seen that, mostly at night after everyone has had time at the bar to drink and become stupid. This fight though, this fight seems to be in groups. Rayne could hear the sirens coming closer, signaling that the law was almost there, but still too far out to do anything for her shop or others around. The sound of glass breaking signaling that the destruction of a shop is already under way. As the glass breaks for that shop, her eyes narrow some and she tenses knowing that they might come soon for her shop. "Its not as bad as it could be though, but yes, it is bad." She replies to him, though her focus and attention is on the people fighting in the street. She doesn't notice him going for his shirt, more focused on the people coming up to her shop. Most people leave her shop alone and then after the first time, they do for good, but it seems that these guys haven't heard the message. Her shop is off limits to fights. She again replies a bit off handedly to him. "Hmm?" Her focus on the guys now banging on the door before looking at him somewhat. "Backroom yes, basement no. Wouldn't matter really, I'm not leaving my shop to these morons." After speaking she goes to the door and opens it up, stepping out which forces the guys to step back. Rayne crosses her arms and stares at the guys for a split moment before speaking. "You are going to leave my shop alone. You're going to have a bad day if you don't." Her attire should throw the guys off for a moment or two, with her faded ripped skinny blue jeans and a red tanktop with black zipped leather jacket. She had already started pull on her cat reflexes, though nothing physical has changed on her yet, she hasn't gone that far. tags- Niodin Evans

While it was admirable that the woman seemed to be willing to go pretty far to protect her shop, Niodin wasn't happy to see she walked towards the troublemakers, but she'd already opened the door before he could attempt to stop her. Not good. He groaned when he heard her speak. Again two options were present in his mind. One: the two of them now had the undivided attention of these guys and were fucked, as they could probably take a small minority, but not an overwhelming one, or two: she was somehow capable of holding back numbers this big, which could only mean evolved, which in turn would mean a very high chance of getting caught. He caught up to her quickly. He could hear the laughter from outside. Not a friendly, inviting kind of laughter. Mocking was more like it. The crowd seemed to have increased in numbers a fair bit and Niodin tried to figure out what in the world could have caused a street fight this big in the first place. Glass shattered somewhere in the street. "Listen," Niodin whispered from between his teeth, casting quick looks at the guys outside. "If you can stop all these assholes, that means you're in more trouble than you'd be otherwise." His tone was almost pleading: he didn't want to do anything bad to her, but if she showed Evolved powers with so many witnesses and he didn't do anything, ruining his mission was the best outcome, ending up inside the camp at the hands of Raiden likely the worst. And her fate wouldn't be much better. Holding ground until the cops broke things up seemed like the best scenario for now. The sirens came closer. Still, he prepared himself for a fight if it came to that. "Step aside bitch," one man said with a grin. "Or we'll make you." He then noticed Niodin behind her. Shit, if that wasn't going to provoke the woman into fighting, he didn't know what would. A quick headcount told Niodin that the group that had their attention on the shop now consisted of at least seven guys, but if violence broke out, those numbers were likely to increase. "Going in here will just leave you guys trapped until law enforcement arrives," Niodin said, trying to turn the tide somehow. The man looked him up and down and then looked back at Rayne. "Not if we got us some fine hostages, eh?" "This is the goddamn Outer Ring," Niodin snapped, "They don't care about a civilian death more or less." Gunfire further out in the street proved his point; from where their exchange took place he could see the red and blue lights flashing. This either fizzled out or turned into a bloodbath, he feared. Rayne doesn't even glance at Niodin when he first speaks lowly to her about being in more trouble then she realized, and in a pleading tone no less. She just speaks back to him just as lowly. "You have no faith. Try some." Her focus remains on the two meat heads in front of her. When they call her a bitch and tell her to move aside, she shakes her head with a sigh. "You would think people would come up with something different then bitch. Its getting old and boring now. Doesn't hold a threat or even hurtful anymore." Then Niodin starts to speak about being trapped inside when the government arrive and her fist clenches slightly. She doesn't want them in her shop. At all. Her gaze flicks between all seven guys now before landing on the one that has been talking. "Do yourself a favor and leave my shop alone. Every other one on this street has been hit or will be, but yet mine hasn't. Haven't you had the thought of why is that? Why my shop isn't hit when these riots happen?" She pauses for a second then continues. "Go elsewhere before this turns out badly for you and your friends." Her wrists shift slightly, though to someone like them, they probably wouldn't notice, but Niodin might. He wouldn't know it, but she has a blade up each sleeve of her jacket and she just grabbed them, though they are still hidden since her arms are crossed across her chest. Niodin Evans

No faith? No, he thought, but I do have a job I cannot afford to lose and if this whole thing goes South, which it will if you keep this up, I'm in serious shit and so are you. She did not do anything, however, to increase what little faith he had. If she had the skills to back up her boastful words, against seven men, that was another problem all on it's own, most likely. Why weren't people ever content with just handling things in a way that wasn't bound to make someone angry? He also made a mental note of her hints at there being a reason her shop was left alone. In places like this, that was rarely due to being an upstanding citizen and usually the sort of thing you really should not say aloud in the presence of a guard, even if it was one that had no intention of getting you into trouble.
The men just laughed at the veiled threat. Of course they did, Niodin bitterly thought to himself; there were seven of them and just him and Rayne on the other side; from their point of view there was nothing to be worried about and it probably almost made them high on the power trip this riot was giving them. "Honey," one said, "I don't give a fuck why your shop hasn't been hit before. It is now." Well, that was it. Niodin's stance shifted, as he prepared himself to fight. With two against seven, odds were he was fucked, but duty was duty, so he'd do what he had to do. The group started pushing forward, and Niodin spread his arms in a last-ditch attempt to alter the course of the situation. "The street will be swarming with cops in a few minutes, just do yourself a favor and go as far away from here as possible before that happens," he said, sounding more calm than he felt.
He wanted to avoid a conflict at all costs - if it came to blows, things would get ugly one way or another - but he had no faith in there being a different outcome, unless the cops somehow managed to get here just in time. He also tried to keep an eye on Rayne. Her confidence made him uneasy. Not because he felt threatened by her, but because he wasn't able to predict what she wanted to do and wether or not he, in turn, might have to do something he really did not want to. If he got caught covering for an Evolved, Raiden would have a field day with him.

If Rayne was able to use to gifts, because that's what she sees them as, not a curse or powers as many do, then she can easily take on the seven men before her. She wont though, she knows better then to break her gift out to save her shop the damage that these morons will do when they get inside. The man she just finished the tattoo on is a guard and she knows he will turn her in if he sees, they are all like that. Thinking that everyone with a gift is evil and needs to be taken in and put down or lock away for good. No one things that some just live their lives and don't bother anyone. Even with it being seven men, she is counting on Niodin to take care of a few of them at the least, until the government officials get here anyways. Those scare the guys off usually. Besides that, with the riot going on, these guys are probably on a high with the crowd which usually makes them do stupid things and not think things through clearly. They just want to destroy anything they can get their hands on. When the guy calls her honey, her eyes narrow and she uncrosses her arms, her knives sliding from her sleeves, matted black, handle and knife long as her forearm, but thin enough that it doesn't bulge under her jacket sleeve. The blade is partially seriated at the bottom of the knifes. "No, you will leave. Now." She says to them but her voice is cold now, not warm to try and persuade them. No, she's mad now, pissed off more like it. She shifts her body slightly, taking a slightly angled stance so she can moves easily and yet it gives the guys before her less of a target too. She shifts one of her blades in her hand smoothly so that it faces down while the other stays upright. "That's your last warning." She doesn't tack on that things will get back for them, for sure bloody, perhaps lose a limb....or a life. Tags- Niodin Evans
