General:
Full name: Jaimes Labyrinth
Nicknames: Sometimes Jai
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Profession: History teacher
Background:
Social standing: High class
Family: Jaimes' whole family works for the government, and because he has his own apartment, he barely sees his parents or older brother.
Past: Jaimes was one of those kids that knew what he wanted to be since the very beginning. A teacher. What he'd teach, he didn't know yet, that would come later, but he looked up to the people that stood before his class so much, that he decided he wanted to be just like them. This goal made him one of the few truly inquisitive children in his class. No small wonder he got bullied with it. No, primary school wasn't the best time for Jaimes. Especially not because nobody lifted a finger to stop the bullying.
High school however was a bit better. A big part of the people that really didn't want to go to school just stopped, which made everything a bit more bearable. Still, the bullying continued, and Jaimes slowly turned into an outcast. The fact that his parents were forced to move to a different location because of their work around that time didn't really improve the situation. Jaimes was left behind with his brother, who didn't really care what troubled his younger brother. Work before everything.
Jaimes landed in a depression and first tried to take his life when he was just seventeen. That was ironically also the moment he discovered his power. It didn't matter how many times he tried to slit his wrists, the knife just wouldn't go through his skin, even though it hurt like hell. Jaimes saw this as a sign of some kind, although he wasn't really happy about it.
So he gave everything he had to finish school anyway and to become what he wanted to become, even though the depression stayed a regularly recurring thing. A few times he hit rock bottom and gave up all hope, trying to take his life over and over again, as successful as the first time he tried. As if he still had something left to do.
Meanwhile, Jaimes had developed a passion for history and he knew what kind of teacher he wanted to be. He would tell the next generation of leaders, officials and citizens the truth behind the world. Information he received in his training, but which the ordinary people would never know, that was what he wanted to teach. It became his mission, one that he would carry out until the universe would finally let him die.
The first few months, that was his way of thinking. At day just doing his duty, at night sitting and crying alone in the darkness of his apartment. Still, the children he worked with changed him, bit by bit. The depression is still there, but Jaimes has more good days now and is actually excited to go to work.
Personality:
Passions: History, a good book, hating himself, collecting ties.
Dislikes: Himself, the government-approved version of history
Relationships: A number of his female colleagues have a crush on him, although he himself doesn't notice it.
Fears: Having to live a very long life, that the next generation will be just as clueless as his.
Talents: Playing the piano, hiding pain
Weaknesses: Jaimes is quite reckless and doesn't care about his life. He is absolutely blind without his glasses.
Appearance:
Height and build: 1.85m, not very muscular but also not too fat.
Skin: Caucasian
Hair: Short and brown-ish, always in a neat side part
Fashion style and accessories: Jaimes really likes his collection of suits and ties. He is always wearing that. When it rains, a beige trench coat can be spotted on his body as well.
Special features: Jaimes wears glasses.
Power: (only for the Evolved)
Brief description: Invulnerability. Jaimes is unable to sustain any wounds, but is able to die because of disease, old age and trauma to his heart and/or brain.
Advantages: No more wounds
Disadvantages: Everything has its price, and Jaimes' power means that all pain wounds would normally do, is in eightfold.
Amount of control the character has on a scale from 1 to 10: 2. If Jaimes really focuses, he can shut down his power for a few minutes tops, but the moment a different thought enters his mind, this stops.
