General:
Full name: Scarlet LaRouge
Nicknames: Scar for friends, the Red Lady for cops and victims
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Profession: Thief/Mom of many orphans and/or street kids
Background:
Social standing: Poor
Family: Scarlet hasn't had contact with her parents for the past six years, but she sees the orphans and streets kids she cares for as her family.
Past: Scarlet is someone who knows how it is to grow up in true poverty. Her parents were little more than homeless people when she was born, even though they tried their best to care for their little girl. But sadly, they couldn't find a job anywhere, and it didn't take long before the family was on the brink of starvation.
That was the moment her parents made a difficult decision. They strayed from the light and began picking pockets, stealing trinkets and selling their loot, and not long after starting their illegal pursuits, the LaRouge family had enough food again. They even managed to scrape up enough money to buy a small shack to call their home. It seemed like Lady Luck had decided to smile upon the trio for the first time in forever, even though they still had to work hard for every bit of food, for every scrap of cloth.
As soon as Scarlet was able to walk and understand some more complex things, her parents started teaching her the tricks of the trade, and it didn't take long before little Scarlet started helping out in the family business.
Until one night, their luck turned on them. The trio was spotted while breaking and entering. The cops arrived at the scene quickly, almost too quickly, and the LaRouge's only barely managed to avoid being caught instantaneously. One long chase later, the then sixteen-year-old Scarlet discovered that she had somehow lost her parents in the streets, but she couldn't risk going back. Returning to the shack was also out of the question, as it no doubt would be swarming with cops by now.
And so Scarlet came back where she started, homeless on the streets, where she had to keep using her skills to survive. She discovered an entrance to the old sewer tunnels underneath the city and made herself a home there, where no law could touch her. It was hers, it was as spacious as she wanted it to be, she had enough food again, but it was still very lonely. So, one day, as she was walking the streets topside, she saw a quartet of orphans, suffering from the same fate she had once suffered from, and she decided to take them in. Sure, Scarlet was only a couple of years older then they were, and she was going through some weird second puberty that no one ever told her about, but she couldn't bear the thought of those kids starving. So, as if she was their mother, she nursed them back to health and, when they expressed they wanted to stay, she started training them in the not-so-noble art of picking pockets, while at the same time expanding her small underground empire to fit four more people.
That number didn't stay at four though. Over the years, she took in more and more kids, acting as some kind of mother and mentor for them. They colonized the sewers and mapped them out, discovering how to move from whatever part of the city to any other part. And Scarlet? She started dreaming of the treasures that laid in the Inner Ring. But, she also knew that breaking and entering there would not be as easy as in the Outer Ring. So she called together the original four, and started developing plans and tactics with them.
Currently, Scarlet, under the pseudonym "the Red Lady", dons a red mask every couple of weeks to go free some treasures from some unlucky bastard in the Inner Ring. She is assisted by her most skilled four, all hackers or specialists in one area or another.
Personality:
Passions: Red things, shiny things, stealing
Dislikes: Living in poverty, rich people
Relationships: None, although she can be very flirty if she wants to.
Fears: Getting arrested
Talents: Picking pockets, sleight of hand, free climbing
Weaknesses: Scarlet has a weakness for children and isn't that strong.
Appearance:
Height and build: 1.65 with a slim frame
Skin: Caucasian, almost pale. There isn't much sunlight in the tunnels.
Hair: Long, dyed red and wavy. Sometimes in a half updo
Fashion style and accessories: Red, always red. Usually she wears dresses and comfortable, yet stylish boots. When she's out to steal stuff, however, her main concern is clothes that allow for easy movement.
Special features: Scarlet always carries around a set of skeleton keys.
Power: (only for the Evolved)
Brief description: Toxigenesis/Acidogenesis. Scarlet can adjust her tears and saliva to be extremely acidic or poisonous.
Advantages: Having saliva that can dissolve almost anything it touches is rather helpful when breaking and entering.
Disadvantages: Kissing people or sharing a beverage isn't exactly safe. Clothing is screwed as well, as drooling is a thing.
Amount of control the character has on a scale from 1 to 10: 6.
Extra: Scarlet doesn't believe a thing like too much red exists.
