In this thread you can post if you're looking for a character that yours can meet. You just let people know what kind of interaction you're looking for - preferably with a brief description of your own character - and if someone has a match, they can let you know.

Anyone up for meeting Mallory? She's assertive, has a wee bit of a short fuse but is also pretty approachable. She is with the resistance and keeps an eye out for Evolved that are on their own. I'm looking for a character she can either perhaps in the long run develop a friendship with, or maybe one that is going to clash. Am open to all sorts of ideas, though.

Troy Redoran Yoloswek Can Richard meet Mallory for a possible friendship? I was wondering how many paragraphs do you usually type for a reply? I only ask because I tend to type 2 - 6 paragraphs (or more if I really get into a RP.)

I think we could certainly come up with something, yes. Mallory does live in the Outer ring however, so either one of them would need a solid reason for heading to another ring, I think. Mallory does keep an eye out for other evolved, so perhaps she could be in the Middle ring to investigate rumors about someone and meet Richard while she's there.
For me it really differs. It tends to vary somewhere between 200 and 500 words, depending on what I get back, how assertive/social my character is, the type of situation, stuff like that.

I like your idea for why Mallory would be in the Middle ring. Richard could be taking a walk around the same area that Mallory is in and they could run into each other. Richard always has an interest in meeting new people.
I was just wondering about the post length. No problems there. I just like to know for reference.

That could work, yeah. Though I also think it's handy to make sure the circumstances give them enough reason to keep talking, so that it doesn't feel forced after the first bits of dialogue. Perhaps something happens to either one of them or something near them happens that is odd enough to attract attention. (Just kind of thinking aloud, sort of, here)

Yo, people, I have some ideas so here goes. First off; I'm looking for characters to have a thread with either: - Neil, who is a dealer, and a pretty assholish and opportunistic one at that, though he is certainly not just black and white evil; he is a combination of stupid, reckless choices of his own and a product of his upbringing and environment. He is fully to blame, yet at the same time not likely to have ended up any other way. - Then there's Scott who works and lives in Inner, but isn't really the type for it and actually has a harder time making ends meet than it seems. He's a tad grumpy, though certainly not a bad person. Has a passion for music and just kind of wants stuff to get better. Seems to attract trouble against his will. - Cecilia, a World Council member and a pretty power-hungry one at that. Not the kindest lady, though more ambitious and a hard worker than genuinely mean. She does look down a bit on people from the lower regions and is rather entitled. - I also wouldn't mind another topic with Niodin, who is a guard who is actually an infiltrant from the resistance. Dude has, understandably, a few trust issues and isn't the most social one, so he might need a nudge in the right direction.
Now, for the ideas: - In Neil's case a character that he, unexpectedly, can become friends with in the long run can be interesting. Neil letting someone in can really damage his ability to always let himself come first and might even cause him to slip up. - One of our characters is on the run from the cops (can be justified, can be a set-up) and the other helps him or her out - Both characters are lost in a ring they don't belong in and happen to run into each other, after which they decide to just try and figure it out together. Will likely work best with Scott or Neil. - A resistance member and a government member, who do not know each other, get stuck in the same place - The characters are in an abandoned location and happen to overhear something they should not (I'd like to use Neil for this, as he's the most likely to go to a place like that in the first place)
Am always open to more ideas, of course.

Hi! Would anyone be interested in meeting my character, Roque? He's an Evolved and I have him listed as Resistance but he's not very involved--he knows about it due to a personal relationship with a member and considers himself with them, but he keeps to himself in the middle ring, mostly.

My only Middle ring character is Bryce Logan, a foul-mouthed party animal with his heart in the right place, who is quite social, but I think I can cook up a reason to be in Middle for a visit for some of my other characters as well. Scott Donoghue (described him in my previous post) would likely prefer going to Middle if he goes for a drink, so that's an option as well. Erin is Inner ring, but she's not the sort to feel too good for other rings, so she could work as well. She's intelligent, compassionate, but really doesn't like confrontations. She's allied with the resistance as well, but currently doesn't play a very active role either.
Anything in there you think would work?

Oho, I like the sound of Bryce--though I doubt Roque would. Roque would likely get along better with Scott or Erin. Of course, two characters not getting along can be quite interesting too sometimes.
I think Roque going out for a drink could easily run into either Scott or Bryce; maybe he's a bit drunk, which could lead to him getting into an argument or flirting?

Well, Bryce borders on being a little homophobic in the sense that he's not very comfortable with guys hitting on him, so him having to deal with a guy flirting with him again (Iah did that as well) could be funny, as he has no right to complain whatsoever since he himself hits on girls a fair bit. However, getting Bryce really angry is hard, so an argument would be less likely to happen. He's just too easy-going, I think. He's usually up for a brawl, though, but that's more in good fun, as far as he's concerned.
Scott's response to being flirted with by someone he's not into himself would most likely result in him just being direct about it and resuming whatever it is he'd been doing before that :') Though drunk Scott is a little more likely than Bryce to get himself in a heated argument, but he does need a push, being rather introverted.
So yeah, them meeting while going out could definitely work. Or maybe a situation in which they, for some reason, are forced to rely on one another? I don't mind having a thread set in a club or bar, but with Bryce I already have one, so for him something slightly different would maybe be more interesting for me. Maybe the characters get stuck in a building together, after it's been locked down for the night. Or perhaps Bryce has gotten himself into trouble again, has to run like a mofo and gets unexpected help from Roque? Just brainstorming a bit here
Brb, dinner ^^

Ooh, gotcha! I like these characters so much already. Actually, that sounds interesting though, something not in a bar-- getting locked in, maybe one of them thinks they're being followed/in danger so sort of goes up to the other for help? I like the idea of Bryce needing help, Roque's of a sort who'd complain/be a bit nervous but he'd probably come through.

That's so nice to hear : D Hmm, how about this: Bryce fucks up - again, because he is Bryce Logan, careful is not in his dictionary - and gets tailed by, say a cop or something, or just some rando he pissed off. He convinces Roque, whom he meets along the way, to help him, as he figures going indoors would be best way to shake his 'enemy' off. The location Roque thought would be a good one turns out to be closed, but now he's been seen in Bryce' presence, which probably makes him a target as well. So together they find a new spot, which is an open door to some store's backroom. Door shuts, they hide, but once they come out of hiding, the place is locked down. And there is no telling wether they're their on their own or wether the chaser has snuck in with them >: D

oh my gosh that sounds exciting, I'm totally up for it! Roque's ability will come in handy with finding a new place, and such; and he'll definitely be at least a bit scared bc he won't know for sure he can trust Bryce anyway.

Awesome : D Trusting Bryce is a fickle thing. The lad means well, and if you make sure to only call on him when you're sure he's not shitfaced he'll be there in a heartbeat. But he is the sort who might not be able to hold a secret very well, unless he knows it's serious business. He just gets too excited when he has a cool new thing to tell. :') He really is just a giant toddler, I think. But yeah, he means well. Do you want to start the thread, or do you want me to do it?
